Susan Ketron
Susan Ketron began singing from a red-back hymnal in a small white country church. By the age of three, Susan was in front of the congregation singing “I’m in the Lord’s Army.” A few years later, her mother took Susan to the Christian bookstore to pick out her first accompaniment tape. Susan’s father and one of her older brothers play the guitar, so it was natural that she would become interested in making music. As an elementary student Susan learned to play the clarinet, later switching to the trumpet and other instruments. In seventh grade she began piano lessons and continued to play various instruments in the school band. Outside of school Susan was involved in singing in church cantatas in local area churches. After completing her college education at Concord College and Duke University, Susan met her husband while she was working as a Medical Technologist (Clinical Laboratory Scientist) in Tennessee. Changes in their lives brought the family back to West Virginia, and God’s plan for Susan’s life began to unfold miraculously. She was invited to sing on local television and radio programs and in local churches. Her husband and her children encourage and support Susan in following her passion to bless people and to reach lost souls through her music. Whenever there is an opportunity to sing for the Lord, Susan travels within her state and to surrounding states sharing her Christian message through song. |
