Singer / Songwriter Michael Wayne Smith is the writer of the Top 40 hits “My Home” and “Lord I Thank You For The Valley”. The song “My Home” reached the #1 position at many radio stations across the country in 2005 and has become a standard in many churches today.

From late 2001 until February 2008, Michael was involved in the worship ministry at his home church, Faith Promise Church, until he felt the call to step down and allow God to open new doors. Since then, Michael has been traveling from place to place sharing the music that God has given him. As confirmation that he made the right decision, in his first solo concert many folks were seen at the alter and one individual received salvation.

Michael and his wife, Kelley, have two daughters, Kerri and Kasey. Michael and Kelley have been married for 16 years and have seen both good and bad times in their life together. Through each challenge, whether it was Michael’s job loss in 2004 or the time they almost lost Kasey at birth, they have always trusted God and seen His mercy and grace. Many of Michael’s songs are products of life experiences that God has allowed in his life.

The new album features one of Michael’s favorite songs that he has written, called “Everything’s Fine”. This song has already become the favorite of his listeners as well.   It’s a simple song of encouragement that everyone can relate to. It simply says that no matter what you’re going through, you have a friend in Jesus and if you trust Him, you know that everything will be fine.
